Benin is a small quiet and colourful country in West Africa. But “when in Rome”…. do as the locals do, so we ride a “Zem” (a kind of local motorbike) what a happy experience! On the way there are little villages of huts, lakes are traversed by canoe, there are funny little markets, giant baobab trees, groups of giggling children and the mysterious Abomey kingdom with its voodoo rituals. Benin is definitely not banal!
